The Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center project included the design of a precast or hybrid, internally ramped concrete 5-level parking structure to accommodate 1500 vehicles. LED fixtures were specified to complement the natural lighting design, with discussions about potentially powering them via solar panels installed on the covered walkway connecting the parking structure to the main entrance. Parking control infrastructure was incorporated into the deck, even though there were no immediate plans to charge for parking.
Conceptual Design Models:

The existing and new buildings are connected by enclosed sky bridges.

Construction Model:
A 3D architectural model of the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center Expansion was constructed to show the new Nash Courthouse, parking structure, and existing building in relation to one another on the site. This allowed the team to study circulation, wayfinding, and spatial relationships in three dimensions.

Signage Design:
POH+W Architects’ Graphic Design Studio designed both the main entrance signage and the interior wayfinding system for the parking deck. The entrance composition features a prominent blade sign paired with a linear, arced metal form below, creating a cohesive two-part installation. Individually mounted lettering across the arced element spells out Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, establishing a sleek, civic presence that is easily visible to drivers entering the deck.

Large circular informational graphics guide patrons clearly and efficiently toward the building entry, enhancing navigation within the structure. A consistent circular design element, derived from the county’s logo, unifies the signage throughout the deck and reinforces a cohesive visual identity.
