The Georgia Tech Bruun Robotics Lab is a research space focused on robotic automation for the assembly and disassembly of large-scale building components. Developed as an open task order project in collaboration with POH+W Architects, the lab supports computational research and robotic fabrication under the leadership of Dr. Edvard Bruun and the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering.
The space supports advanced robotic systems and human collaboration, enabling research in construction automation, robotic fabrication, and computational design for the architecture and engineering industries.
The Design Team was integral in the coordination of highly specialized gantry installation criteria such as successfully working the lab placement in with existing building conditions and other nearby labs, designing thickened foundations for minimal vibration/ movement, design of specialized mechanical/ electrical/ plumbing systems, and resolving functional and life safety criteria.
