POH+W Architects provided conceptual design and cost estimating services to support Cobb County’s budgeting for the 2028 SPLOST approval. The proposed seven story courthouse, located two blocks north of the POH+W designed Superior Court building, reflects downtown Marietta’s historic character and closely aligns with the existing courthouse design.
Concept Design Models:
Plans for the initial construction phase include 12 courtrooms, judges’ chambers, court administration, and a tower for vertical circulation from the ground floor security area to upper-level courtrooms. Enclosed pedestrian bridges will connect the facility to nearby parking decks and a security pavilion, and secure access for judges and inmates is also incorporated. The design and estimate serve as a strategic tool for the County’s long term courtroom planning.
